4th of July Giveaway!

The 4th of July is so much fun where I live.  We have a festival that takes place just a few blocks from us and on the 4th we have a party and then walk up to watch the fireworks.

It was fun to have the SEWN Giveaway and have everyone stop by and say "hi"  that I decided to have one each month!  This Giveaway will begin today and end at midnight on June 20th so that I can get your goodies mailed out to you in time to enjoy on the 4th.

Just leave a comment mentioning how you celebrate the 4th of July and I'll pick a winner with random.org.

Here's a closeup which includes a quilt pattern, two fat quarters, lots of 2 inch squares of the star fabric, 8 vintage buttons, ric rac, cupcake liners and flags, and a fabric wreath that I made:

OOh, I love 4th of July! We are from CA and where we lived you could not do your own fireworks, but here in NC you can so this will be our second time doing them ourselves! Kids Loved it! We will probably go to the local dinky parade again too!

I think you might have a typo- you want our entries by June 20th, right? (It says July on there.)

We always celebrate by going to the parade, and sometimes riding in it! My parents and grandparents have a lot of antique cars and sometimes they put them in- to carry dignitaries or just for show. We "younguns" will ride along and throw candy. I finally got an old convertible of my own and when I took my boys for their first ride they were very confused as to why we weren't throwing candy. LOL! To them, convertible=throw candy.

Then we go to the fireworks at night. Pretty laid back for us.

To celebrate 4th of July I usually head over to a friends house for a cookout!

We'll probably go to the lake and watch the fireworks display from our boat.
(The best view in town.)

Thank you so much for letting me know. I love your give away even I am from switzerland and we don't celebrate this here. We have our special celebration on august 1st and then we gather with family and friends and have fireworks everywhere.
Have a great day, Martina

I miss celebrating the 4th of July, since I married an Aussie and moved to Australia. I look forward to celebrating again one day. We hope to settle in America sometime in the future.

June 15, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDeborah

I hope that I can enter if I live in Australia, Those fabrics are lovely, I have a brother who lives in Baltimore Maryland and is married to a girl from there so I would probably make them something with it.

I love the wreath you made! I live in CA and grew up going to the beach for the 4th. I even watched the fireworks from the queen mary in longbeach, now that I'm married I go over to my mother-in law's balcony to watch the fireworks. It's my fav holiday, that and halloween!

Hey there, Thanks for letting us know about the give away. Obviously I don't celebrate the 4th of July but my neighbours do as they came to live here 2 years ago... So I would totally make it for them as a gift!! hehe

Hi - I would love to enter your giveaway this time also! Since I'm norwegian, we do not celebrate the 4th of July, but our own national day on the 17th of May - it is a very proud day here in Norway, celebrated with parades of school children waving their flags shouting hurrah and looking all so fine in their best clothes or national costume, the bunad. :-)

Well, I cross my fingers to be lucky in your drawing! :-)

THis is so fun!! THank you for your giveaway! Our 4th is a BIG DEAL! My parents live on Main st. in Huntington Beach, CA where the largest parade ont he west coast is held. We are up at 5am with a big breakfast, run the marathon on Pacific coast highway, then at 10am sharp the blue angels fly over head and the two hour long parade beings. We have TONS of friends over, lots of food and last year we won the decorating contest for our house!! The rest of the day is spent on beach cruisers pedaling all over the city where most of the streets are blocked off.

being an ozzie we don't celebrate July 4. Jan 26th is our big Australia day celebration. Usually a BBQ with friends and fireworks.

I love fireworks, we see them every year. Me and my daughter dress in festive red white and blue too! And of course there is a cookout.

We live near the shore, so on 4th of July, we go out in the boat and watch all the area fireworks from the water. It is fantastic. We are almost completely surrounded by fireworks and get a great view of several different ones. We now have friends that "reserve" the 4th of July weekend every year to visit with us.

Wonderful idea! A giveaway a month...something I should have to help clean up the sewing room. Our town has a cultural festival the last weekend in June where we have fireworks, so they don't have anything for the 4th. Our celebrations run the gamet, from nothing special, to inviting hubby's family over, to driving to the nearest city an hour away to watch their fireworks display....it's never consistant. I would like to make myself a wallhanging or table topper in patriotic colors to display from Memorial Day to the Fourth of July....your package would work very well.

We don't celebrate here in Brazil but I would love to enter this giveaway!!! I love the colors and the star of the american flag ^_^
Thanks a lot and please count me in.

We usually have our own fireworks show in our backyard along with a cookout at home. Sometimes we'll go into the city to see the big fireworks show, but dealing with the traffic often times leaves us at home. Thanks for hosting.

We live on a lake and the Fourth of July is celebrated with a water skier parade followed by a boat/pontoon parade. The boats are all decorated for the 4th and there are judges and prizes for the best decorated boat. Everyone on the lake has parties, and there are lots of fireworks over the lake to end the day. It is so much fun.

this is so sweet and fun! thanks for the contact and i wish i knew how you contacted all those people, i'm having a giveaway too and i'd like to spread the word.
we celebrated last year with my mom and all my brothers, sisters and their kids (40 something of them) by going to some camps "down the bayou". we boiled seafood, barbequed, and fished. mostly we laughed and had a great time!!
this year we're renting a big water slide and going watch fireworks. looking forward to it as always, it's my oldest child's birthday too (she'll be 29)!

June 16, 2009 | Unregistered Commentersuesue

Fourth of July includes a church get-together picnic with water sliding with the kids and then a BBQ at night and FOR SURE fireworks!!!!

June 16, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDene

We do not do too much, but we live close enough in town to be able to sit on our balcony and watch the fireworks! :) Thanks for the contest! BTW, your package will be mailed tomorrow!
